Autumnal Landscape

If is there a moment which combines beauty, sadness and cleverness such moment is the Autumn. Facing the eminent death, the foliage of trees and shrubs presents us with the most amazing spectacle of colours until its complete fall. This happening is nothing but a cleaver strategy for saving energy and protect themselves against the harsh Winter. Later on the rebirth will happen and a new cycle begins.

How does the seasonal change affects you? What are your feelings and sensations towards Autumnal events? Please leave a comment.

“…there is something I do not quite know how to explain…  (…), there is something very strange, but very fascinating, in seeing a meadow with animals and be seated looking at them and watch them eat (…), it seems like they were born only to be like this, in landscapes like this, for us to be here seeing them. When they are not here, we miss them a lot… does lack something here.”                                   Cristina (not real name), July  2012 at Parque de Serralves, Porto, PT.

The RAIN

Yesterday, I met up with someone at the Botanical Gardens. We met for the first time and the topics of the conversation were very broad. Of course we’ve talked a lot about my research and gardens. And also we talk about the weather. She was saying British always talk about the weather.

Although it wasn’t raining when we arrived at the gardens, sooner after it started falling a bit heavily. And so we start talking about the rain. Do we like it, do we don´t like it. What does it or doesn´t allow us to do?

We were at the Tea room and with all that rain we surely didn´t want to go outside as we were wishing to do before.

We talked how important is the rain. Very important … It gives us food and the lush gardens we enjoy a lot when it’s sunny.

How does the weather affect your feelings of well-being? How does it affect your mood? Share your experience with me!
